Books Written Along the Way
Stories have always been part of my journey. From sharing my own life with juvenile dermatomyositis to creating books that help children, teens, families, and classrooms better understand life with myositis, each book was written with a purpose: to help someone feel seen, understood, and a little less alone.

From memoir to children’s books and resources for young people growing up with JDM, explore the books that have been written along the way.
Written Along the Way
A deeply personal memoir about growing up with juvenile dermatomyositis, navigating disability, love, loss, faith, independence, and learning to use my voice. Written Along the Way is a story of the people, experiences, and unexpected turns that helped shape who I am today.
JDM and Me
A coloring book created to help children learn about juvenile dermatomyositis in a gentle, age-appropriate way. Through inclusive illustrations and simple language, JDM and Me helps children understand different parts of the diagnosis journey while reminding them they are not alone. ❤️
JDM and Me: This Is My Story ❤️
A children’s story created to help young readers understand juvenile dermatomyositis through a journey they can relate to. With simple, reassuring language and inclusive illustrations, JDM and Me: This Is My Story helps children learn about diagnosis, treatment, changing abilities, and the importance of knowing they are never alone.
I’ve Been There, Too: JDM and You — Growing Up with Juvenile Dermatomyositis ❤️
A book written directly for kids and teens growing up with juvenile dermatomyositis. I’ve Been There, Too talks honestly about the emotions, challenges, changing abilities, school, friendships, independence, and everyday realities of life with JDM—while reminding young readers that someone else has been there, too.
Coming Along the Way
More stories are still being written.
I’m continuing to create books inspired by lived experience, advocacy, inclusion, and the communities that have shaped my journey. From new resources for children and families to stories told from a service dog’s point of view, there is more to come.
